We are happy to announce that DerbyCon will have a comedy night show with some amazing talent.
This year we have landed the famous comedian Tom Cotter from America’s Got Talent.
Tom Cotter has taken the comedy scene by storm since finishing as runnerup and becoming the Breakout Star on Season 7ʼs “America’s Got Talent.” Tom was the first comedian ever to be a finalist on the show an is still regarded as the best. For Season 8, AGT asked Tom back to perform as a special guest star and then again to host The AGT Snapple Viewing Party on the Sept 11th episode.
Tom has just come out with his first book, “Bad Dad: A Guide to Pitiful Parenting” (Willow Street Press – February, 2016), a collection of jokes, gags, one-liners and pithy bad advice for fed-up parents everywhere.
It is this kind of versatility has allowed Tom to excel in other areas of showbiz as well. So whether it be comedy, voice-overs, or acting, Tom Cotter gives it everything he’s got. “If laughter is the best medicine, I yearn to be drugged.”
Opening for Tom will be Brad Trackman:
Brad Trackman is a NYC comedian with universal appeal. He has made national television appearances on CBS’ “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Comics Unleashed” with Byron Allen, AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” NBC’s “Later,” “Friday Night,” CBS’s “Star Search” with Arsenio Hall, ABC’s “NY Comedy Festival,” Metro TV’s “New Joke City” hosted by Robert Klein, Comedy Central’s “Heroes Of Jewish Comedy,” “Stand Up Stand Up” and MTV’s “The Buried Life.” Trackman headlines around the country playing the best venues such as the DC Improv where he recorded both of his CDs (“Safecracker” and “Cool Guys Don’t Wear Pink”). Both CDs have received critical acclaim and were produced by SiriusXM Radio’s comedy program director, Joel Haas. If you’re wondering what makes Brad such a unique comedian, it’s his versatili- ty and ability to absolutely KILL while working squeaky clean. That’s why “Radio Shack” had Trackman headline the “Net Together Concert” in Times Square (and simulcast in San Francisco) with a 20-foot tall jumbotron behind him and a crowd of 5,000 in front of him. Trackman has opened for Dana Carvey, Joan Rivers, Robin Williams, Damon Wayons and Weird Al Yankovic.
Prior to the comedy event, TrustedSec has graciously sponsored an open bar cart down in the hotel lobby for drinks before the comedy show as a meet up.
Bring your family, bring your kids (the show will be PG-13), and have a wonderful night on us! We are super excited to add this to the already stacked lineup and give folks something awesome to do when you get to DerbyCon Thursday!
More details to come soon on the events, and we have some huge announcements coming this week on Friday and Saturday’s show and events.
Special thanks to TrustedSec for sponsoring the open bar for the event.
